ThE BrieF:

Black on White

An editorial study focused on contrast, texture, and reduction, exploring visual storytelling through limitation rather than excess. Handmade ceramics, beads, and clothing styled with cultural inflection that invites emotional response over content consumption.

Everything about this set, cast, and crew was lovingly selected to foster an environment of tenderness. belonging, and femininity. This is still one of my favorite projects to have ever worked on because of how easy it was to find our “flow state”.

When you have a clear vision and can make people feel a part of it, you end up with marketable images that carry the weight of a story, without requiring a definitive storyline.

Approach: I directed the creative structure and production flow, developing the concept through visual research, moodboarding, and shot sequencing. The focus was on creating a controlled environment where composition and subject interaction became the primary storytelling tools.

Talent, styling direction, and photography alignment also fell under my jurisdiction, ensuring that all creative decisions supported the concept. Throughout the shoot, I maintained oversight of pacing, shot coverage, and continuity while leaving room for the team to do what they do best or take the lead when necessary,

Outcome: Produced a refined editorial image set that functions as both an artistic study in contrast and a flexible content system for digital and promotional use.

**The ceramics in turn sold out ;)
